How do feel at the end of the year? Teachers open up in new BBC Teach film

“As sad as it is to see them go it's at that point you see the impact you had on their life”

Teachers reflect on how it feels to say goodbye to pupils moving on at the end of the school year, in a new film by BBC Teach.

One teacher says:

“When year 11 leaves, I think it's always bittersweet because you miss them.”

But there’s also a sense of pride according to this teacher:

“As sad as it is to see them go it's at that point you see the impact you had on their life”

Others find themselves reflecting on their reasons for teaching:

“You feel a sense of pride inside because you know that your moral purpose or why you came into teaching.”

The film is part of a new set of Teacher Support resources we’ve been working on with BBC Teach.

We’re working with BBC Teach to highlight some of the pressures teachers face, and offer practical tips and advice.
